  • 02.00 PM every last Wednesday a month, Advanced DNA Group, also at Mornington Information Centre

This was the Agenda for 18th February 2019

As usual, we will commence the meeting with our Q&A session conducted by Brian Parkes. For a variety of reasons, in recent times, we have not had a large number of questions being asked. We do not believe that this is solely due to our attendees having no problems, because computers do not work that way. So, could we ask you to give some consideration to planning a question on some aspect of the operation of your computer or device.

After the Coffee-Break we will have a session on Snipping and Screen Saving. As a component of the 1809 update to Windows 10 we now have the option of using “Snip & Sketch” instead of the “Snipping Tool”. I have found the “Snipping Tool” to be an incredibly useful piece of software. Microsoft have indicated that, at some time in the future, the “Snipping Tool” will no longer be available. So, we will have a look at “Snip & Sketch”. John Thompson uses another Microsoft-compatible programme, called “PicPick”. This is another piece of screen capture and image editing software. You will have the opportunity to compare the two and decide what you would prefer to use in the future.

The Family History Group will commence its meeting at 1:30pm., with Colin Ackehurst as the Convenor. Colin has sent an Agenda to all our members who attend the Family History Group. If you do not receive the agenda, and would like a copy, please contact Colin Ackehurst at colin_a_ackehurst@bigpond.com

The next meeting of the Advanced DNA Group will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, 27th February, at the Information Centre. If you are interested and are not receiving Colin Ackehurst’s e-mail about this meeting, please contact him on the e-mail address shown in the paragraph above.
